From Electric Egg:

We are very pleased to announce that Into the Wind will make its UK Broadcast Premiere on the Yesterday channel on Monday 2nd April at 9.00pm, and will then be repeated on Tuesday 3rd April at 7.10am, 12.30pm and 5.00pm. Freeview (Channel 12), Sky (Channel 537) and Virgin Media (Channel 203).

Into The Wind – TRAILER (A Documentary by Steven Hatton) from Electric Egg on Vimeo.

“Into the Wind, directed by award winning filmmaker Steven Hatton, is a compelling and unique record of deeply personal stories, tales of friendships gained and lost, the perpetual possibility and proximity of death, the importance of love and family, the shared passion for flying and the moral implications of aerial bombing.”

LSM graduate Neil Baker, who co-produced the film and worked as second camera writes:

“Although not mine, nor Electric Egg’s first broadcast credit, (Channel four, S4C and TG4 (IRL) have broadcast films that we have worked on before), the broadcast of Into the Wind on Yesterday represents the company’s first broadcast of self produced film with our very first feature length documentary.
For myself as a filmmaker I am chuffed to get this recognition because to get your work broadcast, especially something like Into the Wind which was self produced and financed and will be aired without any major cuts, is to get respect and recognition from the broadcast TV industry and means we have an instant track record for producing quality material for TV.
For our first broadcast to be our first non commissioned film and indeed a feature-length documentary legitimises our approach to produce our own self-funded films alongside our commissioned works. A approach that has seen not only the DVD and broadcast release of Into the Wind but also award winning festival outings for my own film What Does Otto See? and Steven’s other film Heilig, which have between them screened or are programmed to screen in festivals worldwide.
Making Into the Wind was a great experience which saw Steven and myself travelling far and wide to meet some incredible people with many of the shoots being, to this date, some of the most enjoyable shoots I have ever had the privilege to shoot.
My roles on the production were mainly as co-producer and second camera operator but being that the film was directed, edited and produced my by colleague and business partner Steven Hatton, I helped out in other areas too including assisting and advising on the edit and the marketing of the film.
As filmmakers we are completed to tell stories and thus you want our films to be seen by as wide an audience as possible so to secure a broadcast deal for your film with a free-to-air  channel means that potentially millions of people will get the chance to see and hear the story you were so compelled to tell.”
