Media Mentors for LSM’s Students

Meet the Graduates 2013. Informal networking was a chance for a one-to-one chat between student and graduate. We are piloting a media mentoring initiative at the LSM for the new academic year. We’re looking to recruit 20 media mentors and wish to get numbers confirmed from companies and professionals over the summer.  Thanks if you’ve already signed up to mentor our students like ambassador for The Prince’s Trust, 2006 graduate Jimmy Tearaway (left on the photo).  So if you wish to join our media mentors, Helen McCarron our Careers and Employability Adviser is on hand to tell you more: hmccarron@lincoln.ac.uk

In September 2009 Careers and Employability introduced an employability mentoring scheme pilot project, to run for the whole academic year. The scheme proved a great success with employers/ professionals and students alike. The huge benefits of schemes like this can be seen in this recent news story.

Please get in touch if you are willing to participate in our mentoring initiative, which can be at least six meetings with a student for a couple of hours over the academic year or a purely online mentoring/knowledge bank. For more details about mentoring media students and to apply for a mentor role please email Helen McCarron: hmccarron@lincoln.ac.uk
