Electric Egg’s new experimental commission

From Electric Egg:

Production is well underway on a new and exciting piece of experimental moving-image work. The work is being created for the craft exhibition “Beauty is the First Test” curated by Liz Cooper and will soon be exhibited at the National Centre for Craft and Design (NCCD) in Sleaford Lincolnshire.

To date we have completed filming all five artists, weaver Margo Selby, basketry artist Stella Harding, furniture maker David Gates and two lace-makers Carol Quarini and Gail Baxter. Continue reading

Lucy Madge in the 30 under 30 talent list

LSM graduate Lucy Madge has been named as one of the 30 brightest young UK radio talents, in the Radio Academy 30 under 30 list.

“The prestigious list, chosen from more than 200 applicants with a wide range of skills by a panel of independent judges, highlights the huge amount of young talent within the UK radio industry.

The final 30 made the list not just by doing their day job brilliantly, but by going the extra mile and achieving exceptional results during the past 12 months. The list recognises them as superb ambassadors for the radio industry as a whole.”

Into the Wind Screening

Electric Egg’s feature documentary Into the Wind will make its Lincoln premiere at a special screening on Friday 1st June at 7.30pm at the Lincoln Drill Hall. The film will be preceded by director Steven Hatton’s new award-winning short Heilig. The event offers the opportunity to see both films on the big screen!

Otto, a decrepit busking hobo, bashes out a jaunty tune on his toy piano to amuse passers by and hopefully earn him the odd coin. But on a pavement full of street maestros why would anyone spare a penny for old Otto?
