Trainee Script Editor with BFI

Marcella Forster, LSM’s Senior Lecturer, wanted to let you know about this great job opportunity at the British Film Institute (BFI). 

Previous postBFI Film Fund has launched an eight month Trainee Script Editor placement. This paid placement will consist of six months with the BFI Film Fund and two months within an active production company.  

The deadline’s 23rd September 2013.

“The successful candidate will be invited to shadow BFI Film Fund executives on multiple projects during their placement and participate in their meetings with writers, directors and producers.  The candidate will also be expected to read scripts, provide script coverage, generate written script notes and deliver notes verbally in meetings.

During the placement, the candidate will be invited to have 1:1 sessions with Executives and Story Editors within the Film Fund and also with leading external Script Editors. The successful candidate will have two years’ experience in the Film Industry and a demonstrable interest in storytelling, screenwriting and script development. Shortlisted candidates will be asked to read a script and write a script report.”
