Elly Sample, Director of Communications, Development and Marketing at the University of Lincoln, said: With new national funding introduced to support postgraduates from 2015/16, now is a great time to consider Masters level study, whether you are in the final year of your degree, a recent graduate or a professional looking to take the next step in their career.  Studies have shown the many advantages a postgraduate qualification can offer – the ‘postgraduate premium’ is estimated to be worth £200,000 over a lifetime – but the benefits are about much more than earning potential. The University of Lincoln’s Postgraduate Taster Days give the public an opportunity to experience stepping back into the classroom and rekindle their love of learning alongside like-minded people.

An Engineering masterclass will consider one of society’s most pressing technological issues – how to generate power and energy on a sustainable basis. Lincoln’s computer science experts will outline the latest advances in artificial intelligence, software engineering and mobile technologies.

Business and management specialists from Lincoln Business School will discuss how and why major retailers have successfully embraced Fair Trade principles. In the School of Psychology, researchers in developmental psychology will deliver a session for students interested in children’s social and cognitive development.

Aspiring broadcasters will work in the University’s industry-standard radio studios to produce a real radio news bulletin – researching, writing and presenting a package to deadline. The Tennyson Research Centre, based at Lincoln Central Library, will host a unique history masterclass, exploring how the physical landscape was represented in text and images during the time of the great Romantic poet in the 19th century.
