In the Art category, the winner will receive mentoring from Turner-Prize nominated Tracey Emin, to produce original artwork for the livery of 12 British Airways aircraft flying in guests during Games time, expected to be seen by millions of people. The artwork will also be reproduced on the official London 2012 Games sculptures displayed around the capital, in the run up to the London 2012 Games.
Tracey Emin said: “Discovering and nurturing fresh British talent is a rewarding and exciting experience that I’m looking forward to. This unique canvas provides the opportunity to help a budding Brit stand out in the art world, and give them a platform to showcase their talent to a global audience.”
In the Film category, Richard E Grant will mentor the winner, to produce a script for a short film shown on British Airways flights during Games time, to an estimated audience of millions of people. It will also be broadcast at the London 2012 Olympic Games opening ceremony, to a global audience.
