The world’s largest short film festival, Movie Extra Tropfest 2013, is calling for entries! Tropfest offers a fantastic platform for film and media students and graduates to showcase their passion and talent for filmmaking. Entries close on January 3, 2013.
From last year’s finalist films:

The Finalist films will be screened to a massive live audience across Australia, as well as to hundreds of thousands of viewers live on subscription TV channel, MOVIE EXTRA. For the third year, the Finalists will be flown from their home city to Sydney. As well as receiving enormous attention from the local and international film community, the winning filmmaker will take home:

* $10,000 cash
* A week-long trip to Los Angeles, meeting with film executives

For the first time, Tropfest is including a DSLR category, sponsored by Nikon, to offer filmmakers an accessible and affordable entry into the festival. All films entered into the festival must adhere to some basic guidelines, including:

* Movie Extra Tropfest 2013 must be the world premiere of your film (including online)
* The film must be no longer than 7 minutes (including titles and credits)
* The film must contain the 2013 Tropfest signature item (TSI) ‘BALLOON’
