LSM graduates nominated for RTS 2012 awards
The School of Media is delighted to announce that 2 films from last year’s 3rd year projects have been successful in receiving shortlist nominations from the RTS (Royal Television Society) for their Midlands Awards ceremony which will take place later this year.
We would like to congratulate Adam Clark and Dominic White and their production teams on this notable success & the inspiration that it provides for all our students. The nominations are in the Fiction and Entertainment categories and are listed below along with the RTS judging panel comments.
Fiction: “Breakpoint” – Dominic White and team. The judges thought that this was a very strong drama. Well shot, excellent locations which added to the dramatic effect. Good direction and production and believable acting.
Entertainment: “Porcelain” – Adam Clark The judges felt that this was particularly well written and was witty and engaging. It was entertaining, clever and the character of the mug was very well developed. A strong entry.
Rhiannon Jones, class of 2011
After graduating with a degree in media production I took the usual route of trying to get as much experience as possible under my belt, in my chosen field of audio. I was fortunate enough to get land 5 different work experience placements across production facilities for Radio and Sound Post-Production for Film and TV.
Daryl Boyden, class of 2011
I am still here at Interflora and work has been busy since I took my promotion for the role of Video Producer (from assistant) back in January. Focusing the brand video slightly more on editorial content (e.g. short documentaries about British grown flowers, wedding competitions and flower school) to managing, shooting, capturing the entire video element for the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2012 – Probably the most stressful but extremely fun challenge I’ve had so far.

Abergale needs your help
Hi, my name is Abi Bremner, I graduated from the University of Lincoln in September 2011 with a first class honors degree in Media Production. I am currently living in Brisbane, Australia and wondered whether anyone from the School of Media has any contacts out here that they could put me in touch with.
I am currently looking for work experience and internships to develop my cv so that I can then begin applying for more senior roles and positions. Any feedback or advice would be greatly received as I really want to try and get sponsorship out here and in the long run apply for residency. Look forward to hearing from you, Abi Bremner
If you can help, please comment on this post, or contact Peter Dewrance, lismalumni@gmail.com.
Lincoln Youtube Gathering
Tom Ridgewell, AKA Tom Ska, has told us about this event planned for April 28th on campus. Imagine:
“Hundreds of happy-go-lucky potential students walking around the university of Lincoln all day, filming every second of it and distributing it to thousands more potential students each.”
The organising team could do with more help, particularly from Lincoln-based people.
