LSM students attend Media Culture 2020 (Finland)

This all day student event will be on 1st May 2013 from 10am in the Architecture Building, ARM201.  With a fantastic line up of radio experts, creatives and music specialists, including a panel of our graduates working in the industry you’ll need to book your place now!

There are a limited number of places so you must book early to be sure of attending. LSM New Media Social Enterprise

The Lincoln School of Media is setting up a New Media Social Enterprise to enable LSM students to work collaboratively with local businesses, organisations, charities, schools and community groups to provide them with media support and you with networking opportunities, creative commissions and the chance to develop your business skills. This Social Enterprise is being co-ordinated by LSM graduate of MA Digital Imaging and Photography Hazel Donnelly. Hazel will oversee logistical, financial, H&S, ethical and IP issues. THE GEMINI PROJECT is the first project for our Social Enterprise and we need two fantastic students to get on board really soon. Migrants in Europe competition

The European Commission has launched the Migrants in Europe Competition with the aim of giving young artists and communicators an opportunity to reflect on the contribution of migrants to European society. The Competition is aimed at students over 18 years old and enrolled in art, journalism, graphic and communication schools in all EU countries and Croatia. Artwork will be judged in three different categories: Posters, Photos, Videos. Prizes of €10,000 are available for the winners in each category, and for the winner of the public vote. Try It or Do It Awards

We have made our first four ‘Try it’ awards of £500 through the Social Enterprise project and are excited to support more projects amongst our students, staff and graduates! The awards were made to these individuals for them to progress their projects by carrying out market research.  The projects will hopefully show potential and we may be able to award a further £5000 to begin making the project work longer term.
