ALTERED_logoThe Altered partnership is recruiting a new Curator, which will be a 1-year freelance paid contract. The Curator will lead the artistic direction and management of a one year touring programme of artworks around several or more of Lincolnshire’s parish churches. The closing date’s 5pm on 31 March 2014.

‘This post will not be salaried. There will be a set fee for project delivery, which will include all travel, sustenance, labour, communications and material expenses. The maximum fee available for this is £10,000; to be paid in agreed installments. The outputs and outcomes of the project may be delivered by either an individual or company. Continue reading

Quandary Productions Creative Internship Programme have selected two new interns to join its team – and they’ve both come from the Lincoln School of Media. Congratulations to Sarah Worcester a 2nd year student and Liam Gilroy a recent media production graduate.

We’ve been asked to film at a number of locations around Lincolnshire from Monday 7th October to Friday 11th October, every afternoon.

  • I will require a few students with excellent camera skills and some with sound experience.

Reef TV are looking for an Edit Assistant in London. The role will include copying tapeless media to the digitise stations and converting to low res material for use in offline edit, conforms from offline to online for HD edits and general maintenance of the edit suites.You will be responsible for unlock/lockup of the office and work will be based on a shift pattern with 2 other assistants. Sheffield Doc/Fest from volunteer to internship

Sheffield doc-fest logo_v2My technique lately seems to be to apply for jobs no matter how unqualified I think I might be and if I’m successful, worry about it the night before I start work. I hate myself for this technique sometimes but it always pays off in the end!  I first came across Sheffield Doc/Fest through a friend and as soon as I read into the festival, I knew I wanted to be involved.  I’m Rachel Hagreen a second year student at the Lincoln School of Media.  I’ve always either had my head in fiction as part of the course or freelancing to earn a bit of brass, so I figured I should open the door to documentary production too.

Rachel Hagreen’s Summer Internship

Well done to Rachel Hagreen, LSM’s second year student, who has a three-month summer internship with the Sheffield Doc/Fest organisers. The international film festival is renowned for bringing together media professionals and celebrates the art and craft of documentary making.

Rachel HagreenRachel said “my first intern shift is today, on the hottest day of the year.  Everyone is lovely here and very laid back.  I’ve been responding to lots of emails, making tea and editing the doc/fest website so far!”  She’s been thinking of starting a blog, but in the meantime she’ll post something here soon.  Rachel’s also been working on producing some shorts about Meet the Graduates 2013 and I caught her in action at the School of Media’s networking event.
