From Sarah Barrow: The inaugural conference of the British Association of Film, TV and Screen Studies takes place here next week, Fri 19th to Sun 21st April. Professor Mary Stuart will open proceedings at 2pm on the Friday followed by an introduction from BAFTSS chair Prof Brian Winston. Guest of honour (receiving a lifetime achievement award) is confirmed as acclaimed feminist film theorist Laura Mulvey! Her keynote is on the Friday at 4.30pm, followed by a screening of “Riddles of the Sphynx”, followed by a reception to launch the Journal of Popular Television.
