Adam Luff updates from the USA

Hello everyone! Well it has almost been a year since I left the United Kingdom to study at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. After meeting Sarah Barrow who visited San Francisco for a conference and showing her around both the city and the Academy, it was suggested that I give an update blog…which I am happy to do of course!

Since my last blog back in September 2011, I have completed two semesters and seven courses. The classes have ranged from writing short scripts, filming short films, directing actors, editing film footage etc.

BBC Production Talent Pool 2012

I graduated from Lincoln in 2010.  In 2011 I was lucky enough to get onto the Vision Intake Pool scheme at the BBC (now known as the Production Talent Pool [Ed])

The scheme is coming up again and is open for applications on the 6th February 2012.  It’s also a little different this year with three categories to choose from, rather than two, these being: Runner, Production Management Assistant (TV) and Production Management Assistant (Radio). Recent Media Production Graduate Tom Mallion is cycling around the UK as part of his BT Storyteller role.  “I was as shocked as anyone when I turned to page 54 in today’s Daily Mirror (Nov 25th) to find that I had a full page spread on my TwoWheelDocs series…and I’m loving the James Bond image too, although I feel my cover may have been blown! Olympic Games presenter opportunities

Working with a production team, the presenter’s role will be to entertain and inform the public before, after and during events.
