Writer/Director and part-time Lecturer, 2010 alumnus, Philip Stevens and Senior Lecturer Dominque Webb are on the way to their target. Thanks for pledges in to date and they said: BFI and Creative England are part funding our new film, and as part of the agreement we have launched a crowdfunder campaign.  We are honoured to be part of the Creative England and BFI NET.WORK’s 2016 iShorts scheme, and we have been awarded £5000 by them towards the production of our short film, but filmmaking is an expensive process – and to make the most of this incredible opportunity we NEED your support. The Forecast (2015) at Cannes | By LSFM Grads, Staff & Students

The Forecast (2015) will be at the Cannes Film Festival, 16th-22nd May 2016, Short Film Corner. The film produced by Urban Apache Films was written by 2010 alumni Philip Stevens and Stewart MacGregor. The short has been screened at the London Short Film Festival, Kinofilm Film Festival and it’ll be at the new international IndieLincs Film Festival on 11th and 12th March. Indie-Lincs was established by the University of Lincoln School of Film & Media to champion low budget filmmakers and there will be over 30 shorts screened at Lincoln Performing Arts Centre.

The film was directed by Phil Stevens, who works part-time as a lecturer at the University of Lincoln School of Film & Media. Head of LSFM Dr Sarah Barrow said: Almost everyone on the production team was a member of staff or graduate, and some were LSFM students at the time the film was made last year. Continue reading

The-Road-to-Rome_castandcrewIn the Summer of 2014 Filmmaker and LSFM Lecturer Philip Stevens directed a documentary which was as taxing for the filmmakers as it was for the participants. The Director of Photography was Stewart MacGregor who along with Philip is a graduate of the School of Film and Media from 2010 ( and in 2011 they won a regional RTS Award for Greasepaint). The Road To Rome, narrated by Sir Ian McKellen, is a feature-length documentary about three authors of historical fiction who walk from Naples to Rome dressed as Roman soldiers to raise money for charity. So far the walk has raised over £25,000 in donations for charities Médecins Sans Frontières and Combat Stress. You can see the trailer from Urban Apache Films.
