The Animation Degree Show screening will be 12noon today (3rd June) at the Odeon in Lincoln.

See what University of Lincoln Degree Shows are running this month. Here are some LSFM’s final year students’ work on-campus and online:

CLM Degree Show 2015 is on the Brayford Pool campus until 5th June from 10am to 4pm. It’s at AAD – Art, Architecture and Design Building West.

The Contemporary Lens Media exhibition website is called Quadrivium.

The LSFM DEGREE SHOW 2015 site is for Media Production, Photography, Audio Production, Film and Television.

Headspace 2015 Industry Event | Lincoln School of Film & Media

Today’s HEADSPACE was LSFM’s on-campus industry event organised by Senior Lecturer Zara Healy. Our Visiting Professor Trevor Dann opened the day. He introduced industry guests, who were primarily our alumni and BBC Radio Lincolnshire’s Managing Editor Charlie Partridge. This was a fantastic opportunity for our students to gain an insight into the range of employment after graduation. Work can be in many forms as our graduates shared why they started their own media businesses; how to leap from local radio into local telly as well as network TV; and doing forms of digital media to pursue their passions. Here are some moments captured at Headspace 2015 – networking and socialising.

Meet the Graduates | Wed 29 Oct

Meet the Graduates is the School’s alumni event to bring together our graduates and students to share experiences, passions and make face-to-face contacts. It’s free, in-house on the 1st floor Minerva Building. 29 October 2014 from 2-5pm.

Between 20-30 alumni are coming along from the media and creative industries (work permitting!): acting … screenwriting … designing … music video directing … photography … TV production … local radio … presenting … promotions … working with effects … video production … indie filmmaking … managing media companies …

2pm: Ask what you’d like to know at the Graduate Question Time, so come prepared for the Q&A. 3pm: Mingle! You can make personal contact at the informal networking with any alumni you choose. See some alumni who’re attending here!

Video Update | Lincoln School of Media’s HEADSPACE

This is a video update on ‘Headspace‘, the Lincoln School of Media’s radio and audio social networking event. It was successfully organised by Senior Lecturer Zara Healy back in April. The idea was connecting like-minded people on-campus. The networking was between LSM students and industry professionals – some our alumni – from presenters to podcasters. Headspace achieved its aim by providing a great opportunity for 100 participants to chat about any aspect of careers and to build new contacts. This video was created courtesy of two LSM media production students Rory McCarney and Scott Williams at New Media Lincs Social Enterprise.

Last time I wrote a post for the LSM blog I had pretty much just started life with the BBC. Almost 2 years down the line, I am now typing from a brand new studio desk at BBC Radio Lincolnshire at the end of what has been a very busy few months.

My regular duties are working as a Broadcast Assistant at weekends, covering the on-air broadcast of programmes on both Saturday and Sunday mornings. I will also find myself covering other programmes during the week, including Mid Morning, Afternoon and Drivetime. So what has changed? Continue reading →

What’s on at the Lincoln School of Media’s degree show called LSM Showcase? See this visual programme, which will help you to find final year students’ work in the MHT Building on the Brayford Pool campus at the University of Lincoln. The video was created by LSM students Emily Cowlishaw, Catherine Chibnall, with thanks to Alex O’Brien and Rachel Dodds and music by students in Audio Production and Media Production.

THIS evening the LSM Showcase is still going strong, ahead of another day tomorrow, and you’re invited to network in the EMMTEC Lecture Theatre. Come along to the Lincoln School of Media’s end of year degree show. See the next generation of creatives’ work in the MHT building from noon on Wednesday 28th to Friday 30th May. The SoundSpiral will be unmissable! It is an audio interactive inflatable space. A printed programme of all the events will be available from the degree show’s reception desk in the Atrium.

The student team at LSM Showcase said: “Twenty years ago the Lincoln School of Media began the first Media Production degree in the UK. Today it’s still going strong producing some of the best talent in the country, and that’s what we want to celebrate.
