On Wednesday 14th November 2018 take your seat at the Junxion, ground floor, in JUN0005 at 2pm. Ask alumni any questions about the world of work. Grads will share their experiences from jobhunting to freelancing and offer you advice. Then from 4pm to 5.30pm, at the Tower Bar upstairs, you can chat and make connections with professionals – sharing your ideas and exploring creative collaborations

An Illustrated History of Warner Bros, Rick Senat | 21 Feb at UoL

WarnerBros-logoUniversity of Lincoln (UoL) is delighted to welcome Visiting Professor Rick Senat for a Special Lecture about An Illustrated History of Warner Bros on Wednesday 21st February (Part one) 1pm-4pm, (Part two) 5pm-8pm in the Jackson Lecture Theatre, Brayford Pool campus. The Uni said:  The event is FREE and open to ALL – current and former students, staff and friends. No registration needed – just turn up promptly at 1pm and 5pm. Rick will share insider stories and experiences from his impressive career with Warner Brothers – including a wide range of exclusive clips and still images straight from the WB archive.

Following a few years in Independent production in the UK and the US, Rick worked for Warner Bros. from 1976 until 2002 when he was Senior Vice-President of Business and legal affairs, responsible for activities in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. He has been associated with the Harry Potter films, Greystoke, Batman, Superman and a number of Stanley Kubrick’s films. More recently, he consulted on various productions including Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban, Troy, Alfie, Sahara, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, etc. He was Executive Producer of JK Rowling’s  The Casual Vacancy and the blockbuster 2016 movie Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find them. He is currently executive producing the sequel, Fantastic Beasts, the Crimes of Grindlewald starring Eddie Redmayne, Johnny Depp and Jude Lawfor release worldwide in November 2018. Continue reading

Meet the Graduates | 8th Nov 2017 LSFM Networking Event

Meet-the-Graduates-logo-1024x435Here’s your invitation to Meet the Graduates (MtG) 2017 alumni network event between our former and current students. Head of Lincoln School of Film & Media Professor Steven Peacock posted: We hope you’ll join LSFM on the afternoon of Wednesday 8th November 2017 at Brayford Pool campus for the great gathering between our graduates and students. I’d like to meet you, so hope we can connect at MtG.

MtG 2017 will be in the Stephen Langton Building. Our network event will start at 12.30pm with a buffet lunch for alumni. At 2pm LSFM students will have the opportunity for an audience with alumni at the popular, frank, Graduate Question Time. From 3.30pm there’ll be a networking session; one-to-one between students, fellow grads and staff over a drinks reception.
