Register NOW for a media mentor! This superb student opportunity is only open to University of Lincoln School of Film & Media undergraduates. TWENTY selected students will be mentored by a professional who volunteer their time from the world of work. LSFM Industry Mentoring will run in the new academic year (2019-20), subject to the School’s schedule.

I applied for LSFM Industry Mentoring as I thought it would give me an insight into post-university life and help me understand how to progress into a media career.  I was paired with Ben Atkinson-Foster, the Digital Education Developer for the College of Arts and a former media student at the University of Lincoln, who shared his experiences in industry as well as his interests in Radio; of which he produces and presents a specialist music podcast.

I am an avid music fan and DJ with aspirations to work in the events industry as well as on Radio and so Ben was a very ideal person to have been mentored by. Continue reading

Industry Mentoring 2019-20 | OPEN to LSFM Undergraduates

Call-out is OPEN for University of Lincoln School of Film & Media undergraduates to register their interest for a mentor from the media industry.  This superb student opportunity is due to start in the next academic year (2019-20), subject to the School’s schedule. LSFM Industry Mentoring is designed for TWENTY selected students to be mentored by a professional who volunteer their time from the working world.

Currently our media mentors are working in design, photography, animation, film, television, radio, and audio production, as well as in multimedia jobs from scriptwriting to social media. Media Mentoring 2018-19 | Industry and LSFM

Sean Strange Media MentorUniversity of Lincoln School of Film and Media (LSFM) officially launched this month its Industry Mentoring between 20 professionals and undergraduates for 2018-19. Each academic year, we confirm media mentors who’re available to volunteer time from their busy workload to support students who applied for this 1-to-1 employability opportunity. LSFM Mentoring started as a pilot, in 2014-15 with the Uni’s Careers Team, and now has over 40 professionals on its mentors’ database. The School’s proud that the majority of mentors are our alumni. He has clients from M&S to White Stuff, and has been our media mentor for 3 years:  Meeting my mentoree in person was very good to build a more relaxed and productive relationship going forward. Media Mentors | Industry & LSFM

Lincoln School of Film & Media (LSFM) is proud to have mentors who work in a range of media jobs. LSFM Mentoring with industry started as a pilot and has been running, developing, for three academic years. Our undergraduates apply, for 20 places, to have their own media mentor. Our superb School-Industry opportunity is for 20 selected undergraduates to be mentored by a professional who volunteer their time from the working world. Currently mentors are working in audio production, TV, radio, film, design at Hello! magazine, in photography and in multimedia jobs from social media to scriptwriting. This call-out is for LSFM Level 1 and 2 students from animation, audio production, film & television, media production and photography to register their interest. Please note: Successful applicants will be informed before your student Summer break. If you’re selected as a student-mentee you must be available to attend the 1-hour induction on-campus.
